XPO Logistics (NYSE: XPO) is a top ten global logistics company. They run their business as one, highly integrated network of people, technology and physical assets in 34 countries, with over 86,000 employees and 1,425 locations. XPO use their network to help customers manage their goods more efficiently throughout their supply chains.
One company who is associated through their supply chain solutions is PPG Industries at Stowmarket as XPO provide demanding supply solutions on their behalf, so it was a natural choice to investigate what the PPG’s commercial vehicle refinish division could do to support XPO Logistics when they acquired the Norbert Dentressangle fleet.
With a history of working with the FleetWatch repairer network on accident repair solutions, XPO enquired of PPG Fleet Livery Management what solutions they could offer to assist in the rebranding of their tanker fleet. Throughout 2016 PPG FLEETWATCH® assisted in the management and livery control to rebrand over 60 articulated tankers which was delivered on budget and on time.
Colin Maidens, UK Maintenance Manager for XPO Logistics, was central to the setting up of the tanker rebrand and worked with PPG’s Fleet Livery Management Business Manager, David Holden to provide a couple of feasible options. “We presented Colin with a broad UK network of FleetWatch repairers as one approach or, as what was to become the best option for them, to have one major site close to their North-West hub,” remarked David,” and in the end the smooth running of the scheme led to on time and in full completion we were all proud of.”
As the tanker contract wound down to a halt, at the close of 2016, Colin turned once again to PPG FleetWatch and Fleet Livery Management to provide a cost effective, rebranding solution for their curtain side and box trailer fleet. Colin Maidens commented,” following a successful tanker contract we felt confident that again PPG FleetWatch could provide us with a winning solution so we tasked them to develop another scheme”.
Once again, PPG FleetWatch network has provided the foundation to a solution that enables the trailer fleet to be rebranded against tight deadlines and with a budget that meets company expectations. To assist in the management of the scheme a full livery programme document has be drawn up and approved with the rebrand kicking off on the 23rd January.
David Holden expressed his delight, “it is brilliant to have been able to assist XPO Logistics once again and give the FleetWatch network praise for their engaging help in pulling together a contract that works well for all parties”, adding too, “and I believe that it is this unity and the power of FleetWatch that enables us to assist fleets in many ways, being efficient, timely and cost effective.”
