FLEETWATCH® Industry Insight: Martin Williams acquire Penman Engineering

Established in 1990, Martin Williams founded his business in a small garage behind his house. The business soon moved into a larger building, where Martin Williams was able to repair and paint cars. After further development the business progressed into a larger workshop and became the reputable car and commercial vehicle repair business that it is today.

Today Martin Williams’ core focus is in body building and vehicle accident repair, specialising in commercial vehicle repairs of all kinds. Martin Williams is unique to many other repairers as they have the ability to repair any type of vehicle body due to their bodybuilding capabilities.

Recently, Martin Williams have acquired Penman Engineering in Dumfries. The company specialise in the CIT market and have been trading for over 159 years. Martin Williams has plans to extend their companies offerings by being able to build more vehicle bodies than ever before. Penman will be taking on additional work from Martin Williams, whilst maintaining the quality of bodybuilding work that Martin Williams are renowned for. Penman were also in the process of manufacturing a bespoke family of vehicles for global defence organisations around the world, and Martin Williams look forward to getting more involved with this project.
