Paintshop Northern Ltd, based in a small but efficient premises in Dewsbury, began their relationship with PPG and the NEXA AUTOLOR® TURBO® Plus brand back in the early 90’s and these products have been prominent in the business ever since.
It was in these early days that Paintshop Northern Ltd were affiliated to FLEETWATCH® and they have remained a proud partner ever since.
“FleetWatch has always been an important accreditation to us over the years as we have performed work for FleetWatch customers time and time again,” said Business Director, Craig Hudson. “We like the ‘Badge of Quality’ that is attributed to FleetWatch and this helps us demonstrate our workmanship qualities to the wider market”
Craig Hudson and his brother Paul Hudson established the business in Dewsbury, however, in 1999 they moved facilities to Commondale Way, Bradford. Today they have nearly 20 employees, operating with two fully compliant commercial vehicle booths. The bulk of their business is based on supporting the vehicle manufacturers market, in which the majority of work is painting rather than repair.
Craig explains, “We developed a repair division some years ago but soon decided that this element impacted on our core painting business. Due to the growth of Accident Management companies, we felt that the control of the business was out of our hands, so we chose to remain as a premier paint shop.”
Paintshop Northern Ltd also have a paint shop business located at the Tasca Tankers manufacturing site based in Wakefield. Paul Hudson was instrumental in setting up the processes and developing the skilled team there, but returned to the main site in Bradford around 12 months ago. Paul’s role specialises in developing change within operations, allowing the business to become more efficient and cost effective on the shop floor.
Paul states, “I am proud with the way we have set up the Wakefield operation, the business works to the same quality and driven practises we have at the main site. It is now managed efficiently by our onsite team and working back here, I am able to develop our sector management processing which has ensured more benefits for our clients.”
Craig and Paul both continue to support the FleetWatch ethos, helping to build client specifications that complement the Paintshop Northern Ltd process.
