FLEETWATCH® member, Perrys of Gobowen, based on the edges of Oswestry has been a family owned business since 1962. Clive Heathcock first opened the doors, but today his son Glyn and his family steer and develop the business.
Over the years the business developed from car and commercial repairs in the early days, to recovery and assistance. In more recent times, Perry’s has developed further to include a Renault Truck agency appointment. This coupled with a brand new bodyshop has given them their purpose built site located in St Martin’s.
In 2004 the new site was opened and fitted out to a high standard, this has resulted in accreditations with all the major insurers, principle work providers and the appointment to FleetWatch in 2008. The business has invested in wheel and chassis alignment systems with leading manufacturers, such as Josam and Truckcam, delivering state of the art geometric reporting. Alongside this, they also have installed bespoke cab jigs.
Mike Wilson, Bodyshop Manager, has a very client focussed approach to the business, always looking at how costs can be reduced whilst repair standards remain high, being mindful of the vehicle off road times and in some cases potential replacement costs that may impact on clients.
Mike states, “Our business is to ensure our clients receive the best repair cost. This means evaluating each repair on its own merits and then engineering the repair through exacting quality standards but such that we meet economic goals.”
Mike is also a keen supporter of the FleetWatch network and often works closely with PPG to assist clients with refurbishment or repaint programmes that need national support. Additionally, he promotes Paintspec where the support of detailed livery specifications are offered to ensure corporate compliance. “The Paintspec support from PPG enables my customers to fully understand the standards we are working to and that consistency is guaranteed, whilst supporting our endeavours with a credible warranty support package through FleetWatch”, continues Mike.
Following major award winning feats such as eight time finalist nominated paint shop at the Bodyshop Awards, with 3 wins, plus 2012 and 2013 Renault National Customer Service Award winners, Perry’s business has a healthy future as they continue to innovate and future proof. Many clients have benefitted from uniquely designed programmes that are managed for convenience and cost control, this has seen excellent customer retention and loyalty.
