Tarmac is the UK’s leading sustainable building materials and construction solutions business, operating one of the largest HGV fleets in the construction industry. More than 2000 vehicles, including 1500 contract hauliers, transport its products and deliver services across the country every day.
The company’s fleet is made up of a range of vehicles including rigid and articulated tippers and walking floor trailers, carrying aggregate and asphalt. The mixer fleet handles many types of cement based materials such as concrete, screed and mortar.
For over 8 years, PPG’s FleetWatch has supported Tarmac with the branding of all new vehicles in the fleet, so when the company rebranded it turned to PPG and its Fleet Livery Management team to help manage the significant logistical challenge.
Sean McGrae, Tarmac’s Senior National Transport Manager, said; “With such a large fleet in need of new livery it was essential that the project was managed by the experts, who not only had the capability to provide the geographic spread needed, but also the speed and flexibility to work with a business of our size and scale.
“The support from the UK wide FleetWatch network meant we have access to responsible partners with the correct skills and experience to meet the challenge
With the project having now come to a successful conclusion, the team at PPG’s FleetWatch continue to roll out new build vehicles across the country in the new branding which combines the knowledge and expertise of two of the construction industry’s most iconic brands; Tarmac, the pioneers of the modern road and Blue Circle, the company that patented Portland Cement.
FleetWatch and Tarmac look forward to a continuing its successful partnership in the years to come.
